ABIMBOLA A.K.A SAPHYBOY (Abimbola lives in Lagos, from Delta State, Nigeria)
his name is Abimbola or better known by his most popular name saphyboy, this Nigerian singer- songwriter, actor and record producer.
He was a member of the hitbiz records Afro hip hop group.
Early life Abimbola was born in Delta State, Nigeria.
He is from the sapele local government area and from the urhobo ethnic group in the
western part of Delta State, in Nigeria.
[1] He attended Ufuoma mixed Secondary School in sapele, Delta State.
He schooled briefly in The Delta State Polytechnic Otefe Oghara,
where he did his sciences
course in computer and management science.
While attending DELSU he performed at school organized shows and parties, as well as other regional schools such as the University of Nigeria and Delta State University of Science & Technology .
Abimbola started composing and singing jingles at the inversion studio and Club at Delta State Broadcasting Services (DSBS) in 1999.
He would move to Lagos and started performing with fellow artiste, Wonder j, Bling D, shun babe, Lace, Olamide, Kalushia, sean tezzle, Ekene, Cj Rock.
He had met Ekene while attending DESPO.
[2] He started calling himself “saphyboy” in 2002 most of his fanz get the spellings of the name wrong as safiboy, but the correct spellings is saphyboy and the meaning is an hamlet use for the protection agains thunder both from the sun and this is refearing to those people who want him under the sun to perish and He is telling them that he is protected by his creator.
He cited the reasoning as “trying to represent my city and where I come from.

Why he choose the name ABIMBOLA, the name Abimbola is a yoruba name given to him by grand parents why he was staying
with them in Lagos city and the meaning to the name Abimbola is a child with great Destiny.
I love his dicision because the name Abimbola is more presentable and remarkable both
international and in Nigeria.
Saphyboy whose name is now Abimbola is a vistile musician who is very nice, cooll and friendly.
